About Us
iftartimefaisalabad.pk does one job: it shows the correct sehri and iftar time for Faisalabad, for both Fiqh Hanafi and Fiqh Jafria, every day of the year. Nothing on this site is copied from another calendar. Every time is calculated for Faisalabad itself.
How we calculate the times
- Location: Faisalabad city, 31.418° N, 73.079° E, in Pakistan Standard Time (UTC+5).
- Sehri ends at true dawn, when the sun is 18° below the horizon. This is the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method, the standard used across Pakistan.
- Iftar is at sunset, when the top edge of the sun goes below the horizon, corrected for the bending of light in the air.
- Safety margin: sehri is shown one minute early and iftar one minute late.
- Fiqh Jafria: sehri 10 minutes before and iftar 10 minutes after the Hanafi time, the convention used on Pakistani Ramadan calendars.
- Isha and Asr on the Sunni page use the same Karachi method, with Hanafi Asr at twice an object’s shadow.
How we check them
Before this site went live, we compared our results day by day with a published Faisalabad Ramadan calendar. All 30 days of sehri and iftar matched to the minute. We check again before every Ramadan and on chand raat.
The times are recalculated automatically at midnight Pakistan time. Nobody types them in by hand, so a missed update or a typing mistake cannot creep in.
What we do not do
We do not decide when Ramadan or Eid begins. That is announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, and we follow its announcement. We also do not give religious rulings. For questions of fiqh, please ask a scholar you trust.
If a time on this site does not match your masjid, please contact us. We check every report and correct real mistakes the same day.
